Certification and Accreditation Guide
This section is not a complete guide to all certification matters in Canada or the United States. It sets forth our understanding of what pertains in areas where many of our clients practice – with particular focus on British Columbia.
Loose Language
The terms ‘certified,’ ‘accredited,’ ‘professional,’ ‘legal’ and a few others are bandied about by individuals and agencies with somewhat loose definition. Always ask, “By whom are you certified?” If the answer is not “I am a certified member of the Society of Translators and Interpreters of [your province]” or “I am a VCC Court Interpreting graduate” you must look deeper into the matter. Sadly, you cannot always take a person’s word on certification. In British Columbia you are perfectly entitled to see a current STIBC membership card or VCC certificate.
Self Certification
It has happened that a translation agency operates a school for translators whose graduates become ‘fully certified legal interpreters’. An even more entrepreneurial variation amounts to, “I hereby certify that I am a certified interpreter.” It is extremely important to determine the certifying agency of anyone purporting to be certified.
Why bother?
As a practical matter, in civil trials in Canada and the United States, if both counsel agree that an interpreter is acceptable, the judge will ordinarily go along with any warm body who will take the oath – including in our experience, the lady who runs the coffee kiosk in the courthouse lobby, the janitorial staff, family members of the plaintiff or even a co-accused. So why should a lawyer bother with nuisance details like the interpreter’s training, credentials and experience? If you think of the court interpreter as an expert witness it becomes clear. Can you imagine a lawyer who would allow a witness to testify about soft tissue injury without asking a few pointed questions to confirm some decent level of expertise?

To effectively fracture of the cervical vertebrae.
This technique can in fact, if performed by an experienced individual, not result in either the severing of the spinal-cord and/or fracturing of the brainstem. Whilst keeping the victim alive for further torture.
It is entirely plausible that this injury highlighted could be in fact a botched attempt at this torture technique.

Well that is a very small caliber bullet and they like to ping..lack of a better word. Is this a possible “pinging”? And while agreeing with Pesky…where are these experts? And, are they not willing to come forward? Any false evidence presented could result in a new-trial,,,but, Travis is dead, and she killed him in ore ways than one, not sure this is really going to matter…but the names of the experts would and could help. I’m not understanding the problem with releasing the information that is requested. An ‘expert’ should maintain their ethical obligation to consult about their findings. Are they consulting with any legal teams regarding this case and this matter?
MS PJ’s slumber party is no more then the gathering of the gossipy women over the fence offering up false information to mold something into something it is not. They make false statements that will ALWAYS fall apart in the light of truth and fact. It is just attention seeking behavior used to gain the admiration of others. When they are forced to defend their stance by the presentation of fact, they end up doing what they can to hide those facts so they can continue to gain admiration from others that lack the intelligence to recognize gossip and falsehoods.
ANY self proclaimed journalist who supports ANY claim that Miss Pajama girl has made has only proved their inadequacy and unreliability as a journalist. A GOOD journalist ensures the topic they are supporting is indeed based on real facts and just not the word of another. But, I guess the key word there is GOOD journalist.

About all I see out of her is some big sensational HEADLINE, that leads to a “Coming Soon” paragraph.
Whatever she’s done in the past, I’m not privy to (got screens? I’d LOVE to see them!!!). All I want to know is, what her plan is as far as campaigning to save Jodi.

Maybe Travis isn’t really dead. Maybe this had all been just a big plot to have Jodi put in jail for a few years just for the hell of it. I think the police and Martinez were just bored and thought that this would make for great television. HLN, of course was in on it too because they needed the ratings. It was probably Nancy Grace who really got it going. She is such a miserable bitch that Nancy. Dr. Drew while reluctant at first decided to go along with it so he could analyze the reaction and do a study on how social media reacts to attractive women who murder their ex-boyfriends. Sherry Stephens still doesn’t know what the hell is going on because she can’t decide on what shirt to wear every day, let alone figure out if there actually is a victim or not.
Nurmi doesn’t care. As long as he can file a motion for mistrial every other day then he is happy. Willmott is content to just be on television and try different products to help her hair grow back.

This reminds me of Richard Speights. He relied on others to forward his work to Jodi’s defense team. Maybe it’s just me, but if I’m going to charge the state and defense of getting the evidence wrong in a DP case, and I thought I had evidence of that, I would personally contact the defense. After all, this is a woman’s life.
Alas, they won’t forward their work. This says so much about the quality of Speights’ and LeSalle’s work.

During the aftermath of the Caylee Anthony Murder, I was witness to the same type of behaviors on social networks (Facebook/Myspace) that you see today. What angered me the most was the blood money.
I wanted to do something to help stop that money from flowing, so I joined in with many others who felt the same way. We created a blog and came up with “campaign” activities that everyone could participate in, anonymously if they wished. We accomplished more than we bargained for in the short two month period that it took to set it up and accomplish our goals (most anyway).
Those volunteers were as relentless as the individuals posting peoples “public records” and “pictures of minor children” that you see today. BRAVO LADIES and Gents!

With all the talk about how much money someone was going to make, it seems people forgot something.
Caylee.
Someone killed that precious little girl. That sweet baby that never did anyone any harm will never celebrate another birthday or see another Christmas tree. She will never go to school or attend her Prom. She will never fall in love.
This petition is a challenge to the News Media who has the most to gain off of the sensationalism of this tragedy. You have invested your money in this already, with intent to throw in more. You have ALL been more concerned with ratings and what you have to gain on this story.
Someone killed Caylee Anthony. You want a news story? Get together and offer a 10 Million Dollar Reward for the capture and conviction of her murderer.

Wow! Pesky those are powerful words you have spoken. And you never made a dime from it. Now you see more bloggers than ever trying to make hits and they just aren’t getting any. Maybe they should be like you and go with what is what’s in their heart, not what is going to go in their bank account. Instead of doing screenshots of peoples personal business and condemning the prosecuter that rightfully put Jodi where she is today, They should put their time and energy of the keyboard to help those that need it. And do the right thing instead of expecting others to do the right thing for them.

They eventually stopped letting people post that (see their TOS). Oh yeah, and that Casey Anthony mask? It was sale blocked just like Zimmermans artwork was. Heck to tha YEAH! 🙂

It was as if people were compelled to try and find some justice for that little baby and they didn’t stop until they won. Did you see the successful campaigns? I look around occasionally for comments by pinkpumps25. Her real name is Christine White of South Salem, New York. She is a stalker with a long history of harassing people online. Over the years, she’s harassed a rather impressive number of folks—busy, busy girl. Unfortunately, I was her target for over a year. Oh, yeah. Fun times.
Pinkpumps25 was just one of her many pseudonyms White wrote under: Lana Blue, Willow Tree, Pinky Mane, Blanca Me (which is Spanish for “I am White). There are simply too many to list here. When I finally discovered and confronted her with her real name, Christine White, she disappeared, along with the plethora of pseudonyms. The Internet got suddenly very quiet for me. It’s amazing how much noise one mentally disturbed woman can make.
The Jodi Arias case has brought out the crazies on both sides of the debate. It’s been an interesting insight into human nature at its worst.
I’m currently working on a book with the working title, Propaganda, Illusion of Guilt, and The Value of Innocence. Christine White might make the pages as a good example of Internet insanity. I owe here that at least.
